ST. MARY RIVER IRRIGATION DISTRICT

When St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID) and Taber Irrigation District (TID) merged at the end of 2021, we were approached by SMRID to reimagine the organization’s branding as they started a new chapter. We came up with a logo that inspires imagery of water meeting farmland, a meandering river, a drop of water or a leaf, and most importantly, signifies the two districts coming together as one.

With the new branding in place, we redesigned their website to be simple and easy to navigate, allowing their clients to quickly find the resources and documents that were most useful to them. We filmed our own footage of the reservoirs, and brought beautiful imagery of southern Alberta across the site.

To help educate recreational users at the reservoirs about the the irrigation district, we designed infographics stationed at each reservoir. The signs explain where the water is drawn from, the importance of the irrigation system across southern Alberta, and why water levels in the reservoirs fluctuate throughout the season.
